Phrasal verbs: time management

Worksheet overview

This worksheet includes 12 phrasal verbs that are used when talking about time management, workload, productivity and similar work-related topics.
The first activity includes 3 short texts, each one introducing 4 time management phrasal verbs. Students read each text and match the phrasal verbs to their meaning based on context. Next, a few statements containing the phrasal verbs are given to students. They use them to start a conversation with a partner talking about their own life and how true each statements for them.
After that there is a multiple-choice activity for students to test their knowledge of these phrasal verbs.
The last 2 activities are speaking activities: First, students are given a few prompts they should use to start a conversation with a partner. They will practise giving advice, recommendations, expressing their own opinions and asking for additional information.
The last activity is a role-play activity: students need to imagine they are going to interview the CEO of a well-known company about time management. First, students write 5 questions they would like to ask and then role-play the situation.
There is a set of conversation cards provided for additional speaking practice, review of the phrasal verbs or for a stand-alone conversation class.
This ESL worksheet, together with the conversation cards can be used in various classes in order to practise these time-management-related phrasal verbs.
It would work great as an addition to a lesson about time-management, productivity, concentration, organisation and other business-related topics.
