Phrasal verbs: daily routines

Worksheet overview

This worksheet is about phrasal verbs used when talking about daily routines and habits and is accessible to lower-level students. Students will learn and practice 12 phrasal verbs and talk about their routines.

All 12 phrasal verbs are introduced through a short text, which is divided into 2 parts. Each part contains 6 phrasal verbs that students match to their definitions. After that, students use 7 of the phrasal verbs to complete 2 texts about 2 different people and their daily routines. Then students compare their daily routines to the ones described in the texts.
For additional practice, students complete 5 sentences with the correct phrasal verb and then discuss whether the sentences are true for them.

The last 2 activities are entirely focused on speaking: First, students complete a “Find someone who…” activity which encourages them to create questions with the phrasal verbs. Finally, students match the halves of 4 questions and use the questions to start a conversation with a partner

You can use the conversation cards to revise these phrasal verbs and for additional speaking practice. This worksheet will work great in combination with lessons about habits and building habits, daily routines, liestyle, hobbies and activities.
