Phrasal verbs: customer service
Worksheet overview
This Business English worksheet is about phrasal verbs used in customer service. Students will learn and practise 12 common phrasal verbs. It will be useful for students who work as call centre agents, sales assistants, customer support representatives, among others.
All the phrasal verbs are introduced through 2 dialogues. The first 5 phrasal verbs (e.g. walk someone through something, set up something, take care of something) are included in a dialogue about a customer whose internet connection isn’t working. To practise these phrasal verbs, students complete 5 sentences with the correct phrasal verb.
The second dialogue is about a delayed order and some of the phrasal verbs included are reach out, make up for something, look into something, follow up. To practise, students paraphrase 5 sentences, using phrasal verbs from this lesson.
The last 3 activities are focused on speaking. First, students discuss 4 questions related to customer service. Then, they work in groups and brainstorm possible solutions to 2 problems given. Finally, they role-play 2 situations.
You can use the conversation cards to practise and revise these customer service phrasal verbs.
